Meet the Founder & Designer
My name is Kris Aare Naicker, founder and designer of Lakris Jewelry.
I graduated as a designer from Durban University of Technology in South Africa in 2002. I later qualified as a teacher in Denmark, while continuing to work across creative fields including graphic design, content creation and cake design.
My work as a cake designer included creations for events at the Danish Parliament and projects for brands including Faxe Kondi, Kildevæld and Sun Lolly.
Although these disciplines may seem very different, they share a common foundation: design, visual storytelling and transforming an idea into something tangible.
Today, those experiences form part of the creative foundation behind Lakris Jewelry. I develop original jewelry designs and concepts, work with materials and components, and oversee the creative direction of the brand. I also curate pieces from outside makers when their design, materials and character belong naturally within a Lakris collection.
Lakris, however, began somewhere much more personal.
It began with a bracelet made by my six-year-old daughter.
That small beginning eventually became Lakris Jewelry, founded in Sorø, Denmark, in 2023.
From Lady Lakris to Lakris Jewelry
Before founding Lakris Jewelry, I had already established an online presence as Lady Lakris.
When one of my videos went viral in Sorø, my story moved beyond social media and into television and local press. My creative work and online journey have since been featured across television, radio and print media in both Denmark and South Africa.
When I founded Lakris Jewelry in 2023, it was not the beginning of my creative career.
It was a new chapter of it.

About Lakris Jewelry
Lakris Jewelry is an independent jewelry brand founded and based in Sorø, Denmark.
Our collections bring together Original Lakris Designs, pieces handmade or assembled by Lakris, and a carefully Curated Selection from outside makers.
Natural stones, pearls, mythology, symbolism and storytelling are recurring elements throughout our collections. I believe there is value in both creating and curating, which is why we are transparent about what we design, what we make and what we curate.
